Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld

On Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld, a 3am talk show on Fox News, I noticed a strong amount of bias in both the content of the show and the humor of the show, but I think that the show itself was fairly open and honest about its bias and was not attempting to be a legitimate news broadcast. The general theme of the show is the show's host, Greg, presents news topics both prominent in todays world, such as President Obama's State of the Union, to totally irrelevant and comical topics such as a study showing that women are more likely to have sex with men after a heavy night of drinking. The content of the show provides an opportunity for individuals with trouble sitting down and watching a regular newscast enjoy themselves while getting informed about prevalent issues, as long as they don't mind a little biased information.

Brain,

It's interesting that there are shows like this one out there so that people who wouldn't normally enjoy a "boring" newscast can be humored while still getting the information. Also, it's good that you know that it was a biased and more comedic take on the news, but it still could be dangerous for a person without this knowledge. It would be interesting to compare this type of show with an actual, straightforward newscast and see all the differences between their ways of presenting the information.

Good Blog!

Mr. Gramman, I found your analysis on Red Eye to be quite informative. Previous to this blog, to was not aware that there were actual news shows devoted to this time slot. I definitely see the danger that this type of biased programming can pose to an uneducated person who doesn't know the facts from their big toe. Overall, this was a very informative and interesting blog. Keep up the good work sir.
